The Five Buckets:
At present, the board sees five specific buckets for allocation. Scholarship Endowment, Coaching Endowment, Operating Expense Endowment, Player Development, and Alumni Engagement.
How the Fundraising Works:
A Board of Directors, formed from & by alumni, friends of the program, and parents, from across the decades of Virginia Lacrosse, will be in direct contact with prospective donors. They will solicit donations, organize events, and be the face of fundraising for the Foundation. The future of the VLLF incorporates a Private Fundraiser to drive donations and campaign on behalf of the Foundation. Donors may visit the Foundation’s website to better understand our mission & goals. Likewise, funds may be taken by ACH or credit card directly from the website platform.
Fundraising will be split into two major categories:
Annual membership giving
Major gift
Tax Deductible & Tax Free Status:
Donations are 100% tax deductible. Any interested donor is guided to further explore their eligibility for the tax specialist.
Responsibility of the Board:
Allocating the funds on behalf of the Foundation. Having a critical understanding of the donor’s desire and the needs of the Virginia Men’s Lacrosse program. Providing transparency into fund allocation.
